Objective:

Students be able to practices the acts of addition and subtraction

• 45 minutes

• 20+ students

• 6-8 years old

Materials needed:

• Chairs, music, plates, spoons, glasses, napkins, tables 

Description of the tool:

          The teacher announces the students that they have to throw a party for (?) guests, having in mind what is the number he/she wants them to practice. He/she asks the students to            place the plates, the spoons, the glasses and the napkins on the tables. Afterwards, he/she removes the tables and all chairs into a circle. They are informed that they will play                    “Musical Chairs”. Then the music stops, each students will have to sit on one chair. 

          The teacher asks each time how many people have to leave the circle and in each round the teacher asks how many students are left.
