Description of the Tool:

“Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.” This quote appears unjust, but this is a part of riddle, a mystery to uncover. The answer to this is Gratitude. Therefore, whoever has more gratitude, will be given more and whoever does not feel grateful for what he/she has, they might lose what they have.

Gratitude operates through a Universal Law that governs our life. According to this Law of Attraction, we will receive things that we are attracted towards – so if we think ‘I don’t like my job’, you will automatically find reasons not to like your job to confirm your bias; while if you say ‘I have an amazing job’ you will be filled with positive energy which helps you to see the advantages of your job. This is similar to the sayings ‘You reap what you sow’ and ‘What you give out you will get in return’.

Counting your blessings is one of the most powerful practices that can change one’s life. When one is grateful for the things they have, no matter how small they can be, one can see them increase.

Step 1: First thing in the morning, Count Your Blessings – do this exercise by writing the list by hand, typing it on the computer or using a journal to keep all the gratitude in one place.

Step 2: When you think about the blessing, think about why you’re grateful for a particular thing, person or situation. So with each item write the reason why you’re grateful for it:

Some ideas:

  • I am truly blessed to have ________________ because ______________.

Step 3: After you finish the list of 10 blessings, go back and read each one. With each one say ‘thank you, thank you, thank you.’

Step 4: Repeat this task of 10 blessings each day for 10 days. Slowly you will start the habit of feeling grateful of whatever you have in your life and feeling more at peace with yourself.
