Materials needed:

  • Food from different countries / cultures

Description of the Tool:

Step 1:Bring a number of different foods like croissants, pitas, tortillas, matzo, and dark breads, have a class discussion about who eats these breads and the countries where they’re most popular

Step 2: Start sharing the food with the students in the class. During the sessions start discussing with the students on who eats this type of food and then ask some questions on that culture. You can also ask if other cultures have similar foods

Notes for facilitators:

Note 1: Before beginning any food activity, ask families’ permission and inquire about students’ food allergies and religious or other food restrictions.
