Objective:

• To raise of what is happening around the world

• To develop the ability to read the news and see what is fake news and what is not
• Help enhance the reading skills in the English langauge

Time needed: 60 minutes

Group Size: 2 – 20

Materials needed:

• Newspapers physical ones of online news

Description of the Tool:

Step 1: In the first part of the activity, the educator will distribute some news articles to the students.

Step 2: The students will read this news and then discuss on what they read with their class mates. 

Tips for educators

Select news from different countries of the students that make up the class. This will help the students understand of what is taking place in the communities that their peers are coming from.
